CEF Thailand: This might be the reason why IVF failed

2020-06-30    458

Technology brings human convenience, and also brings hope to lots of families on fertility. However, IVF is not omnipotent. We have seen such a situation where a couple's physical examination came back normal but has not been able to get pregnant and they failed IVF cycles as well.

What’s the reason caused this? It was due to decreased immunity. Will decreased immunity impact the success rate of IVF treatment?

Immunity refers to the body's ability to resist foreign aggression and maintain environmental stability in the body. The air is full of all kinds of microorganisms: bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma, fungi and so on. In the absence of adequate immunity, they can all become pathogens.Although the body will produce corresponding antibodies against different pathogens to avoid reinfections, antibodies are specific and time-bound. For example, streptococcus antibodies will only protect the body from streptococcus re-attacks in a short period of time, and will not prevent the attacks from other viruses.

Modern medical science has found that immunity is a factor closely related to aging in that decreased immune function is one of the most important causes of aging. Some special cells in the body's immune system are able to eliminate the bacteria, viruses and aging dead cells, mutant cells and cells that could caused abnormal reactions. This helps maintain the body's environment stability and health. However, the body's immune functions begin to decline from around the age of 30, which is a change that happens quietly, slowly and continuously.

  Decreased Immunity:

The body with decreased immunity is prone to infection or cancer, but super immunity can also produce harmful consequences, such as allergic reactions, autoimmune diseases etc.

There are various reasons that could make the immune system fail to play a protective role. In this case, it is very easy to be affected by bacteria, viruses, fungi and other infections. The most direct manifestation of low immunity is being easy to get sick. As frequent illness will aggravate the body's consumption, people will experience physical weakness, malnutrition, depression, fatigue, decreased appetite, sleep disorders and other symptoms. As a result medicine and injections are commonly seen to be applied. It takes a long time to recover from illness, and there are often recurring symptoms. In the long run, it can lead to physical and mental dysplasia and major diseases.

Will low immunity affect the success rate of IVF in Thailand?

The effect of low immunity on IVF pregnancy rates is not directly reflected, but we cannot deny that women with low immunity have a relatively high risk of getting ill and infected, and are more prone to allergic reactions and other autoimmune-related diseases. Some patients are vulnerable to cold or fever because of poor immunity, while could adversely affect IVF treatment and implantation of the embryos. This being said, physicians will usually recommend canceling the fresh embryo transfer cycle and keep the embryos frozen until timing is proper.

Moreover, low immunity will also affect pregnancy. If immunity during pregnancy is low, the chance of infection will increase. Especially in the early stages of a pregnancy, a disease will increase pregnancy reactions, resulting in a series of adverse consequences.

CEF Thailand suggests that females should pay attention to improve their immunity to enhance the success rate. We will talk about ways to improve immunity.
